D2D never felt good to me. Never felt natural, didn't kike it one little bit. I love flowers though so I'd spend my time looking at the beautiful gardens we came across while someone else was doing the talking at the door.

Did you take too much 'ownership' in the territory?
by AK - Jeff inas a jw in the d2d work, i always had this feeling of special right to be there.
i had worked the territory so often that i knew every house, sidewalk, what door to knock on, etc.. i noticed in myself a comfortable sense that i had some sort of 'right' to be there, not as if i was walking on someone elses property, though i knew that and respected their property - but a feeling of familiarity that looking back was out of bounds.
almost like the territory was literally 'ours' - as in ownership.

Is the Watchtower beginning to lose its grip on its members?
by Gill ini have seen a counsellor on and off since leaving watchtower land.
she has made efforts to find out more about jehovah's witnesses.. we were discussing why my jw family (not my husbands' they shun us as if we smell bad!!!!
) are beginning to spend more time with us.

My pioneer mom knows how I feel about JW's and still phones me reguarly. She told me that she does not believe that only JW's will survive armagedon and only God can see what's in your heart. Good start I say, unfortunaly she still believes in armagedon, I have planted many seeds of doubt and am waiting for opportunities to chat about it some more. I really think that a lot of JW's are doubting and leaving. My brother stopped going years ago and now my sister has also stopped. I think the more we try and get our message across to our families the better.

Help settle a debate. Internet relationships...
by esw1966 ina stay at home dad posted on craig's list that he was looking for platonic email correspondance with a lady, someone to talk about life with, insights into relationships, a reason to turn on the computer in the morning et cetera....... my fiance occasionally finds herself seeking relationships with select people online and getting into soulful conversations with them.
she feels that people can be their truest selves in these moments.
to share the quirks of life with random fellow americans is somehow thrilling to her.

I feel that she should want to spend that time with you. Discussing lifes issues with you and getting to know you better. There is no reason why she should be getting all this from a stranger......but then again, isn't this what we are doing right now?

There was so much more I wanted to say but did not want to scare her away. I would love to sit down with her and have a good face to face chat. She live about 1200 km away so I will have to wait a while before that happens.

Just wanted to let you all know about my phone call to my mom. She was telling me how upset she is that all three of her kids no longer are active JW's. I could no longer keep quite and I told her how upset am that she still is an active JW. I don't know what made me do it. I spoke to her for about half an hour, and told her about the UN and the change in doctrine etc. Told her that I could not believe that a loving God would distroy so may people just because they didn't want to open the door on a Sunday morning to JW. She told me that she doesn't acctualy believe that everyone that is not a JW will be killed at armagedon. She said that Jah will judge us by our heart conditions. She is still very much "in" but at least I planted the seeds of doubt. Hopefully she will keep an open mind. I also said that I would understand if she wanted to report me to the elders and that I would understand if she felt she could no longer speak to me. Her answer was that she is my mother and she will speak to me when ever she wanted to. She also said that she is not part of the mafia and does not see why she should tell the elders anything. It felt good to speak to her. She asked me if I got my info on the internet, which makes me think that there have been a lot of pressure from the elders not to look into JW history on the net. I have spoken to her a few times since then but have not mentioned any more JW related info. I think she needs time to digest what I told her. Hope she has a few questions for me in the near future!

Have you ever seen Finding Nemo? Keep on swimming, keep on swimming.
Hope I made you smile!
Just one step at a time, that's how we climb those huge mountains. Focus on one step at a time. You have a lot of people rooting for you.

After a year of enjoying reading posts I've decided to join!
by Little G ini'm just an average guy that been there, done that in the jw domain :) .
i reached my "zenith" lol in such domain at the early age of 20 (i'm now 29) while expanding the work in various foreign language congs as a ms with almost all elder privileges except participating in jc's...the only jc i took part was mine last year :).
by the way, my last wife, a christian, caught me several times reading your posts... she thinks that all of us (including myself) are just a bunch of frustrated individuals...oh well no wonder she left :).
